Autumn Winter has landed

Across the Men’s and Women’s collections, the Desert Boot and the Wallabee retain all their signature elements – the understated design, the handful of component parts including the iconic crepe sole, the uncomplicated construction. So too does Trigenic Flex – the crafted innovation that fuses the attitude of a sneaker with inspiration from Clarks archive.

For the guys, the upcoming season sees all three styles re-energised with an imaginative new graphic that adds a splash of eye-catching colour. Inspired by the paint splatters found on art college floors, a mixture of greys, blue and dark red delivers a unique look to a trio of seasonal essentials.

Another transformation taking place sees the Clarks Desert Boot, the Wallabee and Trigenic Flex emerge in a palette of autumnal colours. The Desert Boot comes in a rich, nut brown bronto suede, a dark tan suede and a dark green suede – all supplied by Leeds tannery, Charles F. Stead, original suppliers of suede and leather for the very first Clarks Desert Boot.

Trigenic Flex gets a seasonal makeover too. Key features remain, like the three part decoupled Vibram® sole, the genuine moccasin construction and the veg tanned leather footbed. Only the colours are new, with a nut brown bronto suede available for both Men and Women.

Shop the Autumn Winter colletion in store, online and in selected Clarks Originals stockists.

Introducing: Clarks x Christopher Raeburn

Thinking differently. For Clarks, shoemakers since 1825, it began with a slipper made from sheepskin off-cuts. For award-winning British designer, Christopher Raeburn, it was surplus parachute fabric that sparked his unique vision of cool, contemporary style.

And although almost 200 years separate our origins, the idea of doing things our way has drawn us together. The result reflects and our shared love of art craftsmanship, combining Clarks unparalleled shoemaking expertise with Christopher Raeburn’s unique design aesthetic.

Featuring five styles for men and five styles for women, the Clarks x Christopher Raeburn collection breaks new ground in its use of performance materials like mesh, neoprene and webbing and design details like perforations and a bespoke outsole.

Adding comfort to the style, meanwhile, are tried and trusted features that include an Extralight sole and Clarks Cushion Plus, the cleverly concealed and precisely placed dual density cushioning that helps you walk in the way that’s best for you.

United by our inspirations and by our quintessential Britishness, Clarks and Christopher Raeburn are natural collaborators; a match meant to be.

Exclusively available at The Windsor Annex.

The Iconic Wallabee

Image via Up there

A staple of the Originals collection since 1967, the Wallabee comes available in both a shoe and boot. Crafted utilising two pieces of leather or suede, two eyelets and a natural crepe wedge sole, this classic moccasin construction delivers supreme comfort and effortless style.

The history of this coveted style begins in the early 60s when German company Sioux produced mass quantities of a moccasin style shoe under the name “Grasshopper”. Wanting in on the action, Clarks won a license agreement with Sioux by which they would produce the shoes out of their own factory, paying a royalty on each pair.

Keen to expand their reach, Clarks took the shoe to the US market. As it turned out, the brand title “grasshopper” was already taken in the US, and thus the name “Wallabee” was coined. They flew off the shelves.

Following this, the shoes were exported all over the globe; quickly becoming a staple alongside the Desert Boot. Today, the style remains largely unchanged from its original design with seasonal colour variations available. The simple design of the shoe and boot make the Wallabee idea for collaborations some of which have included Stussy, Supreme, GoodHood and MF Doom.

The appeal of the Wallabee is vast. From The Verve wearing Wallabees on the cover of their Urban Hymns album to the Wu Tang Clan promoting the shoes to their massive fan base; The Wallabee has been loved and will continue to be loved for generations to come.
